Distant stars were created
before
day 1 of the creation week

According to this model distant stars were created before day 1 of the creation week. While there are some variations in details, this view localizes the creation week to the Solar System. A star one billion light years away, would have been created at least a billion years ago to allow for light travel time. One variant has the stars created in such an order that the light reaching Earth all on day 4. It is basically a modified Gap Theory, that applies the gap to the stars only.

The main scientific problem is that it makes no unique predictions, and so it is unstable.

It also seems contrary to Exodus 20:11.

Exodus 20:11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

So it is not a good solution.
