In 1868 Ernst Haeckel published a theory called recapitulation. This is the idea that the embryo goes through entire evolutionary history of the species. He included more than 30 drawings that he claimed showed the similarity between embryos of different animals.
Icons of Evolution: Science or Myth?
It turns out that these drawings are a fraud and proven to be such during Haeckel life time. Yet they are still use in some text books today. The fraud is obvious when the actual embryos as compared to Haeckel drawings.
Even today, it is often claimed by evolutionists
that the human fetus has a yolk sac, gill slits, and a tail but
the truth is quite different.
